Search and Recovery
If you’re looking for challenge and excitement then the PADI Search and Recovery Diver Specialty course is for you. It gives you the skills you need to find what’s been lost, and get it to the surface. You will learn search and recovery dive planning, organization, procedures, techniques and how to deal with potential problems. You learn how to locate large and small objects using search patterns, and various ways for lifting them to the surface. These skills will make you more capable and confident in the water.
Prerequisites:

Be a certified as a PADI (Junior) Advanced Open Water Diver or have a qualifying certification from another training organization;
OR
Certified as a PADI (Junior) Open Water Diver and a PADI Underwater Navigator Specialty Diver or have qualifying certifications from another training organization.
- Beat least 12 years of age

Work at your own pace, online or offline, using a computer or mobile device. Connect with your instructor for inwater training, or whenever you have a question.
- eLearning time commitment: 2-4 hours
During four dives, you'll locate objects large and small using different search patterns. You’ll get hands-on experience using a lift bag and, on the last dive, you’ll plan and execute a mock search operation.
- Total time commitment: 2-3 days (dives must be completed over two days minimum)
Additional expenses: Travel, dive passes or boat charters and any equipment rental that you may need.
