Class Policies
We know that you are busy and that things happen that can change your plans. We strive to be as understanding of your circumstances as possible. We don’t like having a lot of rules and procedures, since this is scuba diving and it is supposed to be fun! But to be fair to all our customers and because of the work and staffing preparation required of us in scheduling classes, we have the following policies regarding our classes.
Reserving and Confirming Spots in a Class
Tuition for classes (including open water sessions) must be paid in full to reserve your spot in a class. Classes can be booked online under courses or we can email you an online invoice and of course you may come into the shop by appointment to pay.
Cancellation and Rescheduling
You may cancel or reschedule a class without penalty within 48 hours of paying or registering for your class for a full store credit or receive a refund minus a 7% refund fee.
If you wish to RESCHEDULE, we will apply your paid tuition toward another scheduled class (for up to one year) Plus following cancellation fees noted below. OR we can apply a credit to your account.
- The time limit for re-scheduling classes is within one year from the original class date. After one year, there maybe price changes and a re-evaluation of any academics that you completed.
REFUNDs - will be charged a 7% refund fee plus any cancellation fees noted below. We can not refund any online academics once you have registered. If you want a refund for a partial class it will be split with applicable fees.
- If you reschedule or cancel a short (1 night) class, such as ReActivate, Nitrox or Discover Scuba within 3 days of class – There will be a $25 reschedule fee for next class.
- If you cancel or reschedule a 2 or more day course (Open Water, Advanced Open water, Rescue, Wreck etc… )
- $100 – Rescheduling/Cancellation fee if you cancel within 1 week or less of your class.
- $50 – Rescheduling/Cancellation fee if you cancel 2 weeks prior to your class.
- No Fee - If you canceled 3 weeks or earlier of class.
Additional Required Sessions
We specialize in working with students to help them accomplish the goals of the program and become safe, confident, certified scuba divers. In the event that a participant cannot complete all the course requirements during the scheduled sessions, whether due to physical constraints or simply needing more work to complete the skills or coursework, an additional academic, pool or open water session will be scheduled. This requirement is at the discretion of the instructor based on the program standards. The additional sessions will be at a time agreed to by the participant and instructor, and subject to facility availability.
For OPEN WATER POOL SESSIONS ONLY - You will receive one courtesy reschedule, providing you started the course, and you are not able to complete the course due to ear, anxiety or skill complications with-in limitations. After your first courtesy session you will be charged $100 per session for any additional sessions needed to complete your Open Water Part 1 course.
Swim Requirements for the Open Water Diver Class
In order to participate in the Open Water Diver Class you need to have basic swimming proficiency and be comfortable in the water. In order to keep everyone safe and able to progress through the class, if a student cannot complete the required swim and float tests at the start of the class, they may be asked to switch to another class once they have had more practice and/or swim training. The student would have up to one year to improve their proficiency in order to re-join another class.
