Special Note:
Anyone who is 10 and 11 years old at time of certification will get a Junior Open Water Certification. This just means they need a certified dive parent only supervision, or a dive professional (Divemaster or higher) and cannot exceed the diving depth limit of 40 ft deep, for the first 2 years.
At ages 12-14 years, they will also be a Junior Open Water Certified diver, and their maximum depth is 60 ft. They also require a parent, dive professional or they can have adult supervision at this age.
Once they are 15 years old it will automatically change over to the regular/adult Open water. This can be done by a phone call to PADI or when they do a ReActivate or any other class, it will change over.
