Divemaster
The PADI Divemaster program is the first step in joining the professional dive ranks. As a divemaster, you will be able to assist in training others, lead certified divers, and conduct some programs independently. Becoming a PADI professional is an incredibly rewarding achievement, and you will take pride in being able to assist in the training of others. Many divemasters go on to become instructors, and the knowledge and skills you gain in this program will develop the knowledge and skills to become an expert diver.
Prerequisites:

Certified as a PADI Advanced Open Water Diver

Certified as a PADI Rescue Diver
-
18 years old
-
Have at least Logged 40 scuba dives to begin the course and 60 logged scuba dives for certification

Completed EFR Primary and Secondary Care training within 24 months

Be fit for diving and submit a PADI Medical Statement, cleared and signed for diving by a physician within 12 months.

- eLearning time commitment: Both Digital Divemaster course and Dive Theory take approx 10-12 hours each.
Gain practical experience giving dive briefings, assisting with classes and leading underwater tours. Learn how to anticipate problems and provide assistance, create an Emergency Assistance Plan and improve your navigation and problem-solving skills through practical workshops.

As a PADI Divemaster, you’ll be authorized to:

Supervise both training and non-training-related activities by planning, organizing, and directing dives.

Assist PADI Instructors during training sessions for any PADI Diver course.

Conduct the PADI Skin Diver Course and PADI Discover Snorkeling Program.

Conduct the PADI Discover Local Diving and PADI Scuba Review programs.

If qualified as a Discover Scuba Diving Leader, independently conduct the PADI Discover Scuba Diving Program.

Earn the PADI Digital Underwater Photographer Specialty Instructor rating to teach the PADI Digital Underwater Photographer specialty.

Independently guide Open Water Diver students on the tour portions of Training Dives 2, 3, and 4 (up to two students per Divemaster).

Accompany Open Water Diver students under indirect supervision of a PADI Instructor during:

Surface swims to and from the entry/exit point and during navigation exercises.

Skills practice—while the instructor conducts a skill, you may remain with other student divers.

Accompany student divers during Adventure Dives or Specialty training dives under indirect instructor supervision.
-
Conduct the PADI Seal Team Skin Diver Specialist AquaMission.

Conduct subsequent dives under an instructor’s indirect supervision for Discover Scuba Diving participants after the first successful dive.

Teach Emergency First Response courses after completing the EFR Instructor course.
