We know that you are busy and that things happen that can change your plans. We strive to be as understanding of your circumstances as possible. We don’t like having a lot of rules and procedures, since this is scuba diving and it is supposed to be fun! But to be fair to all our customers and because of the work and staffing preparation required of us in scheduling classes, we have the following policies regarding our classes.
Reserving and Confirming Spots in a Class
Tuition for classes (including open water sessions) must be paid in full to reserve your spot in a class. We can send you an online invoice or you may come into the shop by appointment to pay.
Cancellation and Rescheduling
You may cancel or reschedule a class without penalty within 48 hours of paying or registering for your class for a full store credit or receive a refund by check with in 10 - 14 days.
After 48 hours, we will only offer refunds for cancellation of a medical reason that prevents you from scuba diving. Otherwise, you will receive a store credit.
If you need to cancel or reschedule, we will apply your paid tuition toward another scheduled class (for up to one year) plus the following rescheduling fees:
The time limit for re-scheduling classes is one year from the original class date.
$100 - Rescheduling if you canceled within 2 weeks prior to your class.
$50 - Rescheduling if your canceled 3 weeks prior to your class.
No Fee - If you canceled 4 weeks or earlier of class.
Additional Required Sessions
We specialize in working with students to help them accomplish the goals of the program and become safe, confident, certified scuba divers. In the event that a participant cannot complete all the course requirements during the scheduled sessions, whether due to physical constraints or simply needing more work to complete the skills or coursework, an additional academic, pool or open water session will be scheduled. This requirement is at the discretion of the instructor based on the program standards. The additional sessions will be at a time agreed to by the participant and instructor, and subject to facility availability. There is no additional cost for the instruction for one additional session. Any sessions required beyond the one additional courtesy session will require an extra charge of $100/session. This includes your equipment.
Swim Requirements for the Open Water Diver Class
In order to participate in the Open Water Diver Class you need to have basic swimming proficiency and be comfortable in the water. In order to keep everyone safe and able to progress through the class, if a student cannot complete the required swim and float tests at the start of the class, they may be asked to switch to another class once they have had more practice and/or swim training. The student would have up to one year to improve their proficiency in order to re-join another class.
Equipment for Continuing Education and Specialty Classes
For classes beyond the Open Water Diver Class, we provide tanks and weights for pool sessions as part of the class tuition. Tanks and weights for open water sessions and any other equipment must be rented or purchased, unless otherwise specified. Some classes have specific equipment requirements. See the applicable course fact sheet or inquire at the shop for details.
