Allison's Amazing Scuba Cupcakes... a new tradition!
Friday night heralded one of UADC's favorite shop traditions: the annual end-of-season party. It's our shop tradition to close out the season with a great night of food, friends, and diving!
We celebrated a fantastic 2016 dive season that included many newly certified open water divers, advanced open water divers, wreck divers and rescue divers! We also celebrated two new IDC staff instructors and a new Master Scuba Diver Trainer on our staff. We had trips to Dutch Springs, trips to local wrecks on the Gypsy Blood, and a memorable two weeks in Bonaire! We also celebrated PADI Women's Dive Day with a great event.
With this much to celebrate, we shared photos and videos and great stories of our dive-related adventures. We played UADC Bingo (a new game night favorite!) and had a "Know Your UADC Staff Quiz," which stumped more than a few party-goers! We also hosted our first annual photo competition featuring your best shots from this year!
Thanks to our dealers, Scuba Pro, Sherwood, Mares, and Cressi, we also had awesome give-aways! New fins! Snorkeling sets! Backpacks! And for one lucky winner, even a new regulator set!
Everyone brought food to share, including Gerry's eagerly awaited annual oreo cookie truffle tradition and Allison's now famous scuba cupcakes (which we hope is a new tradition!).
With that, we wrapped up the 2016 dive season. But fear not! Diving still abounds!
If you're like most of our intrepid UADC staff, then you are already pining for the 2017 dive season. To keep your "dive thinking" at the ready, here's what we have on tap this winter at the shop!
This week, Paul and Cliff are off to DEMA, the annual dive equipment show. They are on the lookout for exciting new gear that we'll be bringing to the shop. Look for winter updates about new gear!
Stay in touch via Facebook to hear about our Philippines trip, EFR and Nitrox classes, Equipment Specialist and Gas Blender courses, and other winter offerings! Even if you don't get wet, there are plenty of chances to work on your dive education!
Heading off on a trip and want to refresh those dive skills? We'll be running PADI Reactivate courses all winter long.
And, November-May is a great time to get a start on pool training for those of you looking to get certified next year! We're happy to help with pool training, referrals, and more. We run open water part I (pool and academics) all winter long. Call the shop or stop in with any questions!
Finally, now that we are a DUI dealer, you can also get a custom-fit dry suit that will keep you warm and happy all year long. You could even be diving in our lovely Northeast waters RIGHT NOW, warm and happy! There's no reason to put off the 2017 dive season. You can welcome in the new year with a DUI drysuit and you can break it in at Dutch Springs during the New Year's eve dive!
Thanks to one and all for a fantastic 2016 dive season. We appreciate your business and we love supporting your dive training and dive adventures! And, as always, let us know how we can be of help to you in your diving! We look forward to seeing you in the shop.
